Not many people know this, but a "cupper" is a professional coffee taster. Just as with grapes and wine, employees at Cuppers must sample coffee beans for their quality so that they know how to best roast, blend, and brew them. This formal tasting process is called "cupping."
Cuppers is named for all those who enjoy visiting to taste their coffees. Cuppers first opened its doors in January 2006 and since then has won seven awards for Best Coffee and Coffee House in the Prescott area. And of course they're striving to maintain that status and continue serving the best you can get.
Cuppers is housed in a Victorian home that was first built in 1872 for its resident, who was the owner of the Crown King Mine. This was long before Arizona became a state! It is the only structure in Arizona that remains with wooden quoins on the corners of the building.
Cuppers has also been featured several times in the Phoenix-area newspaper The Arizona Republic in its "Must-Do" travel section "Where to Eat", "Prescott, Valley of Lights" and "Travel and Explore Prescott on a Budget". The Arizona Republic is affiliated with Arizona Highways Magazine. Visit their
